Job summary

Applied Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for a remote role to lead design and validation across key subsystems. You will own schematics, calculations, and BOMs, drive design reviews, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver robust electrical solutions.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering and about 5+ years in industrial electrical design, with hands-on experience in switchgear, power systems, and standards compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• ~5+ years of industrial experience in electrical design or electromechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, conversion, monitoring, controls, and system integration.
• Experience designing specifications for switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, loadbanks, and generators.
• Experience selecting and validating electrical components using NEC, UL, and industry derating criteria.
• Proven experience with design documentation, reviews, testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of design standards, manufacturability, safety, and compliance practices.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for electrical power solutions.

• ~ Experience with ERP, PLM, and engineering data management systems preferred
• ~ Desire to work on a variety of projects
