Position Description

Our Staff Engineer is a lead member of the engineering staff working across the organization to provide a frictionless experience to our customers and maintain the highest standards of protection and availability. Our team thrives and succeeds in delivering high-quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge, typically ranging from front-end UIs through back-end systems and all points in between.

Position Responsibilities

• Focus on multiple areas and provide leadership to the engineering teams
• Own complete solutions across their entire lifecycle
• Influence and build vision with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems for building enterprise-class business applications
• Ensure the quality, usability, and performance of solutions
• Lead design sessions and code reviews to elevate engineering quality
• Utilize programming languages like Python, C# or other object-oriented languages, SQL, NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure tools/services
• Mentor junior team members professionally
• Share best practices and improve processes within and across teams

Qualifications

• Fluency in C# .Net and at least one additional modern language such as Java, C++, Python, including object-oriented design
• Experience with microservices architecture and extensible REST APIs
• Experience designing and architecting reliable, scalable systems
• Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code
• Knowledge of DevOps concepts and cloud architecture
• Experience with PowerShell scripting
• Experience with application monitoring and performance assessment tools
• Understanding of security protocols like Active Directory, SAML, OAuth
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to document workflows and system topology using Visio
• Experience with Azure DevOps
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle tools

Experience

• 6+ years in software development, specifically with Duck Creek, C# .Net, CBO, Author, ManuScript
• 4+ years working with open-source frameworks
• 3+ years in architecture and design
• 3+ years with cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent

Salary Range

$115,000.00 - $230,000.00
