Job description

About Us: Automation Anywhere is the leader in Agentic Process Automation (APA), transforming how work gets done with AI-powered automation. Its APA system, built on the industry’s first Process Reasoning Engine (PRE) and specialized AI agents, combines process discovery, RPA, end-to-end orchestration, document processing, and analytics—all delivered with enterprise-grade security and governance. Guided by its vision to fuel the future of work, Automation Anywhere helps organizations worldwide boost productivity, accelerate growth, and unleash human potential.

Our opportunity: As a DevOps Staff Engineer, you will play a critical leadership role in driving the evolution of our DevOps practices. Performing hands‑on technical execution, as well as providing strategic leadership, you will be responsible for guiding and growing the DevOps function across the organization. You will manage day‑to‑day DevOps activities, ensure release quality and velocity, and support the team in building robust, scalable, and secure CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure. Your technical expertise, problem‑solving mindset, and passion for automation will be vital in improving the efficiency and reliability of our software delivery lifecycle.

  • Leading and mentoring the DevOps team, setting clear goals, offering constructive feedback, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Overseeing daily DevOps operations including build/release management, CI/CD pipelines, environment management, and infrastructure reliability.
  • Driving technical decisions and providing guidance on tooling, automation strategies, and architecture.
  • Collaborating with engineering, QA, and product teams to prioritize work, align objectives, and ensure seamless deployment.
  • Identifying opportunities for automation and implementing solutions to reduce manual work and improve delivery speed.
  • Ensuring system scalability, performance, and security are considered in all DevOps solutions.
  • Monitoring and improving infrastructure reliability, alerting, and observability.
  • Advocating for best practices in DevOps and promoting a high‑energy, accountable, and collaborative team culture.

You will be a great fit if you have:

  • 7+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Proven expertise in CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins.
  • Scripting (e.g., bash, groovy, and Python).
  • Strong experience with Terraform infrastructure‑as‑code and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Hands‑on experience with Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service), and Kubernetes‑based deployments.
  • Proficiency in containerization tools (e.g., Docker).
  • Experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Cockroach DB) and managing database CI/CD and configuration tasks.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools such as Kloudfuse, Sumo Logic, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK stack.
  • Deep understanding of deployment pipelines, infrastructure automation, and system security best practices.
  • Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business needs.
  • Passionate, self‑motivated, and enthusiastic about DevOps practices and modern infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with artifact repository tools (e.g., Nexus, JFrog).
  • Prior experience in a fast‑paced product or platform engineering environment preferred.
  • Exposure to security, compliance, and audit requirements in CI/CD and infrastructure preferred.
  • Cloud or Kubernetes‑related certifications (e.g., AWS DevOps Engineer, CKA) preferred.
  • Experience integrating DevOps practices into SDLC and cross‑functional workflows preferred.

You excel in these key competencies:

  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop engineers, provide constructive feedback, set clear priorities, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to evaluate complex technical challenges, make sound architectural and operational decisions, balance short‑term needs with long‑term scalability, and drive DevOps strategy across the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders and effectively partner with Engineering, QA, Product, Security, and Infrastructure teams.
  • Proven ability to proactively identify issues, troubleshoot complex systems, drive root‑cause analysis, and take ownership of delivering reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.
  • Passion for learning, embracing change, driving automation, optimizing processes, and continuously improving software delivery, operational efficiency, and team performance.
