Job summary

Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking a technically broad Staff Engineer to drive complex platform problems from design to production. You will own CI/CD infrastructure, release tooling, and deployment automation to empower thousands of engineers across our DTC services.

You will mentor engineers, write design docs, and influence cross-org decisions to ensure scalable, reliable software delivery. You’ll lead architecture discussions, build scalable pipelines, and collaborate with remote teams to

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading technical direction of complex systems.
• Experience taking projects from ambiguity to production delivery.
• Cross-team influence across engineering orgs.
• Strong written communication and architecture diagrams.
• 5+ years building and operating CI/CD systems.
• 5+ years with CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
• 3+ years with build systems (Gradle, Maven, Bazel, npm/yarn).
• 5+ years with AWS (EKS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway).
• 3+ years IaC tools (CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation).
• 5+ years with Kubernetes (K8s / EKS).
• 5+ years as a software developer (Go/TypeScript, Kotlin/Java, Python).
• Strong CS fundamentals and reliable automation tooling.

Responsibilities

• Drive technical direction across delivery and deployment platform capabilities.
• Lead design-to-production on cross-team initiatives.
• Own platform programs including resilience and disaster recovery for CI/CD.
• Build and evolve CI/CD tooling and self-service interfaces.
• Establish operational excellence standards and runbooks.
• Mentor engineers and review designs across teams.
• Represent the team in cross-org forums and vendor relationships.
