Job summary

Discord is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development of our next-generation experimentation platform, including AI-assisted workflows. You will mentor engineers and drive high-scale data systems that power millions of users and features.

You’ll design core services, data pipelines, and tooling, collaborate with stakeholders across the company, apply strong statistical methods, and ship robust, privacy-conscious solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a full-stack SWE
• Experience with experimentation tooling and A/B testing
• Experience leading complex technical projects
• Strong data governance, privacy, and security practices
• Proficient in Python and SQL; TypeScript or Rust a plus
• Experience with relational, NoSQL and data warehouse datastores

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support Discord's next generation experimentation platform, including core services, data pipelines, tooling and UX
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the company
• Influence product telemetry practices to support experimentation needs
• Deliver high-scale data systems powering features used by millions of users
• Ship machine learning experimentation features and other experiments
