Job summary

Science Exchange, Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer to architect and scale a platform that accelerates scientific research. You will guide AI-assisted development, mentor engineers, and drive design decisions across Salesforce and AWS integrations.

You will lead the full development lifecycle, translate designs into scalable code, and help set long-term architectural goals while collaborating with product and business partners across time zones.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience building and scaling web applications at senior/Staff level.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and mentoring engineers on their use.
• Strong expertise with React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway) and infrastructure-as-code tools.

Responsibilities

• Champion adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices across the team.
• Apply AI workflows to automate SDLC stages including design, testing, deployment, and observability.
• Lead full development lifecycle from technical design to deployment.
• Translate designs into robust, scalable code using platform features and custom development.
• Break down complex work into estimable pieces and lead team-level estimation.
• Identify and resolve bugs and performance issues; provide guidance on debugging and security.
• Provide constructive code-review feedback to raise code quality.
• Communicate technical Tradeoffs clearly to engineering, product, and business partners.
