MongoDB in North America is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the Code Gen team in building AI-powered code transformation tools that modernize legacy applications to microservices on MongoDB.

You will architect and implement scalable workflows, collaborate across product, security, and engineering, and drive the adoption of GenAI techniques to automate build and test processes while ensuring reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development and operations experience.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with code analysis, refactoring, and automated testing.
• Proven ability to design and implement complex systems with reliability and performance.
• Experience integrating GenAI into large-scale systems and distinguishing use cases.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product managers and engineers to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Drive architectural vision and strategy for code-gen tools and autonomous workflows.
• Hands-on leadership: contribute foundational code and set engineering standards.
• Collaborate with security and product teams to ensure secure code generation and AI tasks.
