Job summary

MongoDB is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to drive architecture and leadership for the AMP project on the West Coast, delivering GenAI-powered transformations of legacy apps into microservices with MongoDB.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with Product Managers, and own critical components across the code transformation toolset, while ensuring scalable and reliable systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development and operations experience.
• 2+ years of experience leading a team of software engineers.
• Experience building enterprise-grade analytics systems for data streaming or data tooling.
• Relational and document data modeling with at least one SQL DB and one document DB.
• GenAI experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong time and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, fostering innovation and quality.
• Drive the architectural vision and long-term technical roadmap for the Code Gen product suite.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to translate requirements into robust designs.
• Lead design and implementation of mission-critical components of AMP’s code transformation toolset.
• Enforce engineering best practices through reviews and setting high standards.
• Hands-on contribution to the codebase when needed.
