Job summary

Apollo.io is seeking a senior Detection & Response leader to own and advance D&R strategy across cloud and SaaS environments. You will build detections, automate responses, and guide incident management with a strong emphasis on AI‑assisted workflows.

You will mentor engineers, define detection architecture, and ensure readiness through tabletop exercises and playbooks, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to align with business goals.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in detection and response, security engineering or incident response.
• Track record leading D&R strategy or multi-quarter initiatives with measurable results.
• Hands-on design of detection architecture and SIEM-based solutions (Panther preferred).
• Strong Python, Git, CI/CD and detections‑as‑code skills.
• Experience leading high-severity incidents in cloud and SaaS environments.

Responsibilities

• Own D&R strategy and translate into multi-quarter initiatives aligned with Security KRs.
• Collaborate with Engineering to plan logging, telemetry, and response readiness in roadmaps.
• Set standards for detections, playbooks, reviews, and AI-assisted workflows.
• Mentor engineers to own detections and lead incidents, raising hiring bar.
• Own IR plan, escalation, tabletop exercises, and automation for readiness.
