Capital One is seeking a Staff Engineer to define the future of banking in the cloud. You will lead strategy, roadmap, and execution for CI/CD pipelines, microservices, and AI-augmented tooling, partnering with executives to drive secure, scalable infrastructure.

You will mentor engineers, shape enterprise architecture, and champion an inclusive engineering culture while delivering measurable business value in a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 7+ years in software engineering, cloud architecture, or infrastructure engineering.
• 5+ years designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains.
• 4+ years with containerization and microservices orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) in a cloud-native environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Responsibilities

• Architect the long-term enterprise roadmap for modern DevOps practices, intent-driven cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD frameworks.
• Evaluate and deploy AI-assisted software development tools and secure automated testing.
• Communicate strategy and ROI to non-technical stakeholders to secure funding.
• Design, govern, and enable multi-tenant core-skills repositories with strong security standards.
• Oversee performance and security of highly distributed microservices within regulatory boundaries.
• Mentor senior engineers and promote an inclusive engineering culture.
