Who You Are:

Versar is hiring a staff-level engineer to support our National Remediation Program (NRP). We are a group of geologists, engineers, and environmental scientists who work collaboratively to tackle a wide variety of environmental remediation problems on large-scale government contracts. This is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of government contracting and program management, while also expanding your technical knowledge and skills in the environmental remediation field.

What You'll Do:

  • Complete calculations and evaluate treatment alternatives and performance data to prepare design documents for a variety of soil and groundwater remedial technologies that include elements such as pumping systems, waste containment, barrier walls, and injection/monitoring well networks.
  • Provide field oversight of implementation of remedial design (RD) technologies including drilling, excavation, treatment system installation, and injections.
  • Analyze sample data and prepare tables, figures and reports to summarize results and enable the project team to develop conclusions or develop system optimization recommendations.
  • Provide field team support for various media collection and sampling events.

What You'll Bring:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field
    • 2 to 7 years of experience as an environmental professional, remediation experience preferred
    • Field experience for environmental and remediation projects under RCRA/CERCLA (sampling of various environmental media, supervision of ISCO/ISCR injections, computer modeling and visualization, sample data analysis and evaluation, technical report preparation, etc.).
    • Willingness and availability to travel for field work across the U.S.
    • Strong affinity for learning new software quickly, must be proficient in MS suite of software packages and ability to use supporting programs like AutoCAD, ArcGIS, GMS, etc.
    • Takes ownership of assigned tasks and enjoys spotting inefficiencies in established procedures and implementing new/better ones.
    • Demonstrates attention to detail and commitment to providing high quality deliverables
    • Show initiative--able to anticipate potential problems/issues and bring them to Program/Project Manager attention
    • Collaborative team player with strong listening, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Positive attitude/optimistic outlook
    • Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
    • Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
    • Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
    • Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.

Compensation

Expected Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 annually

The position will primarily work remotely.
