This is a remote position for Costa Rica and Colombia

This position is remote to work with a US Company; you will require citizenship or a work permit from Costa Rica or Colombia to apply for this role.

Job Description:

The Software Engineer Staff (Level 4) is responsible for developing and implementing web-based software services for the airline, handling issues from minimally-complex to highly-complex, including referred issues from colleagues. Front-end or back-end work will be required. They should have a strong technical background in software creation and testing, reverse engineering, and programming tasks. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to collaborate with colleagues on software issues. A continuous desire to learn new things is essential, as technology evolves and new programming languages and methods emerge.

Here’s What You’ll Do

• Write clean functional code on the front and back-end
• Test and fix bugs or other issues
• Work with data scientists and analysts to improve software
• Design software applications as part of a development team
• Conduct requirement analysis, document technical specifications, and debug code
• Recommend product revisions based on user feedback
• Develop and maintain documentation or user manuals
• Achieve performance measures and adhere to standards aligned with our Client Aviation Group Values: Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and Excellence

Minimum Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience including Boot Camp completion
• 5+ years relevant experience or sufficient Boot Camp experience
• High performance orientation, ability to work under pressure, prioritize, meet deadlines, and remain flexible
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
• Self-starter with a positive attitude and strong desire for success
• Ability to complete projects on time with minimal supervision and work varied hours as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-graduate degree in Computer Science or related field, or professional certifications
• 4+ years software development experience

Skills/Talents

• Experience with Ruby on Rails, Angular 2+, PostgreSQL, or similar tools used by the client’s development team
• Knowledge in software development and debugging
• Modern Angular experience is a bonus
• Exemplifies safety culture, values, and mission of the client
