We are hiring for an experienced professional to join our team as a Staff Engineer and contribute
to our Land Development projects on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Raleigh, NC. This
person will have the opportunity to work on a variety of private and public site development
projects across various markets!
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development of Land Development Plans; this includes the preparation of
- engineering design drawings, technical specification, and engineering reports (from
- schematic design through construction).
- Coordinate permits through regulatory agencies for large scale, complex projects.
- Perform zoning interpretation and prepare feasibility studies, drawings, specifications,
- and reports.
- Contribute to stormwater management design: Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H)
- modeling, Erosion and Sediment Control (E&SC) planning, etc.
- Utilize advanced understanding of ordinances / regulations (local, state, & federal) as
- well as the relevant permitting process(es) to ensure compliance.
- Engage with regulatory agencies.
- Manage all aspects of project efforts and interface with clients.
- Nurture existing client relationships as well as developing new clients.
- Provide quality control of staff design & reports.
- Prepare proposals and track project budgets for profitability.
- Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering).
- 4+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with land
Preferred Qualifications:
- P.E. license in NC is preferred.
- Experience working on land development and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.: CADD, project management software, etc.);
- exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bluebeam is a plus!
- Experience with stormwater management (SWM) design calculations, especially while
- utilizing H&H modeling tools.
- Proficiency on standard office software applications: Microsoft Office 365 (especially
- Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, etc.
- Proven ability to look at the "Big Picture" as well the project goals in order to coordinate
- Proven track record of demonstrating punctuality with consistent attendance.
- Proven ability to work in an energetic & challenging team environment as a
- collaborative Team Player, especially while maintaining the ability to work independently
- as well as part of a team.
- Proven ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills, especially when working on a
- variety of projects while providing solutions to difficult issues.
