Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to architect and develop the foundational software platform powering next‑gen automotive ECUs. The role covers RTD, RTOS configurations, low‑level drivers, and platform middleware shared across vehicle programs.

You will embed ISO 26262 safety principles, MISRA C coding practices, and build robust networking stacks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C) while mentoring engineers and establishing platform standards across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related STEM field.
• Strong hands-on experience in Embedded C and MISRA C coding practices.
• Familiarity with ISO 26262 functional safety processes and MISRA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture and roadmap for real-time drivers, RTOS configuration, and platform middleware.
• Mentor engineers on embedded architecture, safety design principles, and low-level driver development.
• Configure and optimize RTD and embedded RTOS for deterministic automotive applications.
• Develop low-level drivers and middleware for hardware peripherals used by upper layers.
• Architect and implement networking stacks (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, SPI, I2C) for in-vehicle comms.
