Job summary

Safran is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer (Networking) to architect, design and implement high‑performance networking software for onboard aircraft video systems. You will build robust network stacks for Layer 2/3 switching and multicast routing to ensure seamless data delivery across complex systems.

The role involves leading design and bring‑up activities, optimizing protocols, and collaborating with hardware teams to validate new networking products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of embedded software experience with networking hardware.
• Experience with Layer 2/3 switches and network stacks.
• Strong knowledge of IGMP, RSTP, and multicast routing, and Linux embedded OS.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Python and bash/sh.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of embedded networking software from requirements to production firmware.
• Develop and optimize protocols including IGMP, RSTP, and multicast routing for high‑bandwidth video.
• Coordinate board bring‑up and work with hardware teams to validate designs.
• Improve efficiency, stability, and scalability of network resources (low latency).
• Mentor teammates through design discussions and code reviews.
