CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to own the full lifecycle of board-level and system-level electronics for advanced RF communication systems. You will drive design, testing, and verification in a startup-like environment, guiding teams and collaborating with software and mechanical engineers to meet program goals.

  • Own the full lifecycle of board-level and system-level electronics hardware design and implementation for advanced RF systems.
  • Drive overall program direction as a digital-focused principal engineer with deep expertise.
  • Lead small hardware engineer teams to develop multi-module assemblies, from architecture to interconnects.

The Skylark product line is focused on the rapid design, build, and test ofcutting-edgeactive phased array antennas (AESA) for terrestrial and airborne applications. Current programs span high-power, large-scale ground terminals for missile defense to commercial airline and helicopter connectivity solutions.

In this role, you will own the full lifecycle ofboard-level and system-levelelectronics hardware design and implementation foradvanced RF communication systems. We are seeking adigital-focusedPrincipal Electrical Design Engineer with deepexpertiseinelectrical design andtest, as well as the ability to help drive overall program direction. This position requires strong attention to detail, rigorous design reviews, and a solid understanding of relevant industry standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in board-level electronics design, analysis, and test.
  • Significant experiencedesigning electronics with rigor, in teams that value thorough analysis and testing.
  • Expertisein aspects of digital and mixed-signal electronics, such as signal integrity, implementing FPGAs on boards, ADCs/DACs, and telemetry subsystems.
  • Experience owning the design phase of complex board-level electronics, including trade studies, key part selection, and detailed design.
  • Experience delivering hardware designs through production and deployment.
  • Expertisein PCB layout, including high-density interconnect (HDI)stackupdesign and high-speed routing.
  • Experience running board-level signal integrity and/or power integrity simulation tools such as AnsysSIwave, ADSSIPro, or MentorHyperlynx.
  • Proven success in debugging, root cause analysis, and design reviews.
  • Depthin point-of-loadpower converterdesign for digital boards.
  • Strong working knowledge of adjacent fields, such as software and mechanical, that guides hardware design and system design.
  • Extensive lab experience for bring-up and verification of new hardware.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC concepts and design to mitigate these effects.
  • Understanding ofmilitary and/orDO standards.
  • Experience with design qualificationand production lifecycle.
  • Has ledsmall teams of hardware engineers to develop multi-module assemblies, including hardware architecture, requirements, make/buy decisions, and interconnects.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience with RF design and test equipment.
  • Crafting proposals for new business opportunities.

$158,000 - $189,000 a year
