Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer to own the full lifecycle of electronics hardware design for advanced RF communication systems used in space and airborne platforms.

You will lead investigations, perform rigorous design reviews, and drive hardware architecture decisions while coordinating with software and mechanical teams to deliver robust, producible hardware for mission-critical applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required; accredited university.
  • Minimum 12 years in board-level electronics design, analysis, and test.
  • Experience designing electronics with rigorous analysis and testing.
  • Expertise in digital and mixed-signal electronics (signal integrity, FPGA on boards, ADCs/DACs, telemetry).
  • Experience owning the design phase of complex board-level electronics, including trade studies, key part selection, and detailed design.
  • Experience delivering hardware designs through production and deployment.
  • HDI PCB layout and high-speed routing.
  • Experience with SI/PI simulation tools such as Ansys SIwave, ADSSiPro, or Mentor HyperLynx.
  • Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, and design reviews.
  • Power converter design for digital boards.
  • Cross-discipline collaboration with software and mechanical teams.
  • Extensive lab bring-up and verification experience.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC concepts and design to mitigate effects.
  • Understanding of military and/or DO standards.
  • Experience with design qualification and production lifecycle.
  • Led small teams of hardware engineers on multi-module assemblies.

The Skylark product line is focused on the rapid design, build, and test ofcutting-edgeactive phased array antennas (AESA) for terrestrial and airborne applications. Current programs span high-power, large-scale ground terminals for missile defense to commercial airline and helicopter connectivity solutions.

We are looking to add a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer our team. If you enjoy working in a startup environment and are passionate about developing electrical systems for leading-edge communications satellites, we would like to hear from you.

In this role, you will own the full lifecycle ofboard-level and system-levelelectronics hardware design and implementation foradvanced RF communication systems. We are seeking adigital-focusedPrincipal Electrical Design Engineer with deepexpertiseinelectrical design andtest, as well as the ability to help drive overall program direction. This position requires strong attention to detail, rigorous design reviews, and a solid understanding of relevant industry standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in board-level electronics design, analysis, and test.
  • Significant experiencedesigning electronics with rigor, in teams that value thorough analysis and testing.
  • Expertisein aspects of digital and mixed-signal electronics, such as signal integrity, implementing FPGAs on boards, ADCs/DACs, and telemetry subsystems.
  • Experience owning the design phase of complex board-level electronics, including trade studies, key part selection, and detailed design.
  • Experience delivering hardware designs through production and deployment.
  • Expertisein PCB layout, including high-density interconnect (HDI)stackupdesign and high-speed routing.
  • Experience running board-level signal integrity and/or power integrity simulation tools such as AnsysSIwave, ADSSIPro, or MentorHyperlynx.
  • Proven success in debugging, root cause analysis, and design reviews.
  • Depthin point-of-loadpower converterdesign for digital boards.
  • Strong working knowledge of adjacent fields, such as software and mechanical, that guides hardware design and system design.
  • Extensive lab experience for bring-up and verification of new hardware.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC concepts and design to mitigate these effects.
  • Understanding ofmilitary and/orDO standards.
  • Experience with design qualificationand production lifecycle.
  • Has ledsmall teams of hardware engineers to develop multi-module assemblies, including hardware architecture, requirements, make/buy decisions, and interconnects.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience with RF design and test equipment.
  • Crafting proposals for new business opportunities.

$184,000 - $225,000 a year
