Job summary

CesiumAstro is hiring an Electrical Engineer I to contribute to the full lifecycle design and implementation of board-level and system-level electronics for advanced RF communication systems. You will be part of a startup-like, collaborative team that values hands-on, autonomous work and rapid iteration.

The role offers growth in electronics design within aerospace systems, with a focus on developing core engineering skills and delivering production-ready designs alongside senior engineers.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or higher from an accredited university.
  • Industry experience in board-level electronics design, analysis and test.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of adjacent fields such as software and mechanical.
  • Experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, logic analyzers).
  • PCB layout experience using Altium, Cadence, or KiCAD (Altium preferred).

In this role, you will contribute to the full lifecycle design and implementation of board-level and system-level electronics hardware for advanced RF communication systems. We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer I who is early in their career and passionate about engineering. This position offers the opportunity to develop core engineering skills while working alongside a highly experienced team in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.


JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Industry experience in board-level electronics design, analysis, and test.
  • Strong EE fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of adjacent fields, such as software and mechanical.
  • Experience with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies, multi meters, or logic analyzers.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to ask questions and implement feedback.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • PCB layout experience using tools such as Altium, Cadence, or KiCAD. (Altium preferred)
  • Experience delivering subcircuit or board designs to production and deployment.
  • Own key portions of the end-to-­end electronics design process, from concept and architecture through schematic, layout, test, and production.
  • Experience using LTSpice for circuit and/or system level simulations.
  • Experience implementing microcontrollers or FPGAs into designs.
  • Complete analysis such as worst-case circuit analysis, signal integrity analysis, and power integrity analysis.
  • Develop bring-up plans and design verification plans for new circuit elements.

$96,000 - $115,000 a year
