Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead the design, prototyping, and testing of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) and related electronic hardware at its Integrated Mission Solutions group in Warner Robins, GA.

On-site daily work is required. You will collaborate with embedded software/firmware teams, define electrical interfaces, and maintain system requirements while guiding cross‑functional design reviews and supplier coordination.

Qualifications

  • ABET‑accredited electrical engineering degree required; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity and power distribution concepts.
  • Ability to develop detailed test plans for avionics hardware.
  • Strong communication and lead cross‑functional design reviews.

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector has a need for a Staff Electrical Engineer at its Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) organization in Warner Robins, GA. This engineering position is for an electrical engineering role in our systems and design engineering group.

This position is in Warner Robins, GA and requires that you work on-site daily.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Lead the design, prototyping, and testing of Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) and other electronic assemblies using cutting‑edge technologies to advance weapon system capability.
  • Perform schematic capture, layout, and BOM generation using industry‑standard tools (Altium, Mentor, Cadence).
  • Work closely with embedded‑software/firmware teams to define electrical interfaces, timing, and data‑link protocols.
  • Capture, maintain and update system and subsystem‑level requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 12 years of direct relevant experience with B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering from an ABET accredited school; Minimum of 10 years of direct relevant experience with Master’s degree; Minimum of 8 years of direct relevant experience with PhD.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout, and component selection; familiarity with signal‑integrity and power‑distribution concepts.
  • Proficiency in understanding complex schematics and redesigning with modern, functionally equivalent circuits.
  • Proficiency in developing detailed test plans and procedures to evaluate avionics hardware.
  • Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, function generators, and power supplies.
  • Strong written and verbal skills; able to produce clear technical documents and lead detailed design reviews.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with external suppliers and customers.
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S Government Secret level security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Concentrated focus on electrical specialty such as CCA, digital, or RF design.
  • Experience designing and integrating test equipment, including CCAs, cables, electrical harnesses and automated test station software.
  • Experience with legacy system sustainment and modernization, including hardware redesign due to obsolescence.
  • Experience with Department of Defense programs.
  • Expertise with Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, or Cadence Allegro.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
