Job summary

Skydio is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to architect and refine electrical systems for advanced computing, sensing, and power integration. You will define architecture, lead high-speed digital design around a mobile SOC, and ensure seamless camera integration and mass production readiness.

Ideal candidates bring experience shipping consumer electronics at scale, proficiency in Python/C, and a track record in EMI/RF problem resolution. FAA 107 certification is encouraged for US roles.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping high-volume consumer electronic products in a senior or architect-level role.
• Expertise in mobile SoC design and high-speed digital interfaces.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot EMI/RF issues in complex systems.
• Proficiency with Python and C for scripting and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Define the architecture and select components for an embedded electro-mechanical and optical system.
• Lead detailed design of main logic, interconnect, power, RF and sensing around a mobile SOC.
• Integrate cameras and imaging electronics into the platform.
• Incorporate DFM and manufacturing considerations for mass production.
• Create and execute a validation plan for system electronics.
• Address reliability, yield, and performance issues from development to production.

About the role:

We are looking for a Staff Electrical Engineer who will help architect, develop, and refine the electrical systems that bring together state-of-the-art computing hardware, sensing, and power systems.

How you'll make an impact:

• Define the architecture and select components for a complex embedded electro-mechanical and optical system
• Work and direct others through detailed design of main logic, interconnect, power, RF and sensing systems around a mobile SOC
• Integrate sophisticated cameras and imaging electronics
• Incorporate DFM and other manufacturing considerations on the way to high-quality mass production
• Create and carry out a validation plan for the system electronics
• Solve related reliability, yield, and performance issues through development and into production

Compensation:

At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $127,500 - $240,000*.
