Job summary

Skydio, based in San Mateo, California, seeks an Electrical Engineer (all levels) to architect, develop, and refine the electrical systems that integrate computing hardware, sensing, and power for our advanced drones.

You will define architecture, select components, guide EMI/RF troubleshooting, and drive design for high-volume production while collaborating with software, hardware, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping high-volume consumer electronics products in a senior or architect-level role.
• Experience with connected products (WiFi, cellular) and device interconnectivity.
• Proficient in scripting/programming with Python and C.
• Familiar with EMI/RF troubleshooting and RF design considerations.

Responsibilities

• Define the architecture and select components for a complex embedded electromechanical and optical system.
• Lead detailed design of main logic, interconnect, power, RF and sensing systems around a mobile SOC.
• Integrate imaging cameras and electronics into the system.
• Incorporate DFM and manufacturing considerations for high-quality mass production.
• Create and execute a validation plan for system electronics.
• Address reliability, yield, and performance issues from development through production.

About the role

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer (all levels) who will help architect, develop, and refine the electrical systems that bring together state‑of‑the‑art computing hardware, sensing, and power systems.

How you'll make an impact

• Define the architecture and select components for a complex embedded electro‑mechanical and optical system
• Work and direct others through detailed design of main logic, interconnect, power, RF and sensing systems around a mobile SOC
• Integrate sophisticated cameras and imaging electronics
• Incorporate DFM and other manufacturing considerations on the way to high‑quality mass production
• Create and carry out a validation plan for the system electronics
• Solve related reliability, yield, and performance issues through development and into production

Compensation

At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full‑time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $127,500 - $240,000*.
