Skydio, the leading US drone company, is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to architect and refine the electrical systems for advanced computing hardware and sensing.

You will define architecture, select components, and own detailed design of main logic, power, RF, and imaging interfaces around a mobile SOC. The role emphasizes manufacturing readiness, reliability, and cost-effective production at scale.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping high-volume consumer electronics in a senior or architect role.
• Mobile SoC design experience.
• High-speed digital design experience.
• Experience with connected products (WiFi, cellular).
• Troubleshooting EMI/RF issues.
• Proficiency in Python/C scripting.

Responsibilities

• Direct detailed design of main logic, interconnect, power, RF and sensing around a mobile SOC.
• Integrate sophisticated cameras and imaging electronics.
• Incorporate DFM and manufacturing considerations for mass production.
• Create and carry out a validation plan for the system electronics.
• Resolve reliability, yield, and performance issues through development and into production.

About the role:

We are looking for a Staff Electrical Engineer who will help architect, develop, and refine the electrical systems that bring together state-of-the-art computing hardware, sensing, and power systems.

How you'll make an impact:

• Define the architecture and select components for a complex embedded electro-mechanical and optical system
• Work and direct others through detailed design of main logic, interconnect, power, RF and sensing systems around a mobile SOC
• Integrate sophisticated cameras and imaging electronics
• Incorporate DFM and other manufacturing considerations on the way to high-quality mass production
• Create and carry out a validation plan for the system electronics
• Solve related reliability, yield, and performance issues through development and into production

• Obtaining FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days of employment is strongly encouraged for all Skydio employees and required for certain positions.

Compensation:

At Skydio, our compensation packages for regular, full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, and comprehensive benefits packages. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $127,500 - $240,000*.
