Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) in San Diego, CA, seeks a Staff Electrical Design Engineer to develop analog, digital and power conversion circuits for flight LRUs in next‑gen UAVs.

You will perform circuit design, analysis, verification testing and documentation, with potential field support and collaboration with the Electrical Engineering team. A DoD security clearance is required or pursued as needed.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor, master or PhD in engineering from an accredited institution with progressive experience.
• Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them in evolving environments.
• Excellent communication, documentation and interpersonal skills; able to lead a team on semi-routine tasks.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop analog, digital and power conversion circuits for UAV electrical systems.
• Perform EMI analysis, control schemes and packaging considerations for flight LRUs.
• Create documentation such as test procedures, BOMs, and interface control documents.
• Provide field support as needed and coordinate with the engineering team.
