Job summary

Zoox is seeking a Staff Electrical Architecture System Engineer to join our Electrical Architecture team. You will help develop electrical and electronic system architecture designs, best practices, and validation procedures for Zoox's ground-up autonomous vehicles.

You will work with engineering leaders across domains to define low-voltage loads, system management and ECU functions, delivering robust solutions on schedule.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 15 years of industrial engineering experience.
• At least 10 years in vehicle electrical architectures and ECU HW definitions.
• At least 3 years using model-based system engineering tools.
• Ability to gather and organize information efficiently.
• Understanding of firmware development for automotive ECUs.
• Experience developing wake/sleep functions for automotive ECUs.

Responsibilities

• Own the low-voltage power distribution system requirements.
• Own the vehicle communication architecture requirements.
• Own the power modes and power states requirements.
• Collaborate with other system engineers and component owners to define architecture.
• Participate in tech reviews with suppliers and hardware standards.
• Perform component performance analysis for low-voltage systems.
• Develop verification strategy and guide test team.
• Conduct root cause analysis and impact assessment for field issues.
