Job summary

Netflix is seeking a Staff Distributed Systems Engineer for Ads Policy Infrastructure to lead architecture and technical strategy across policy platforms. You will guide multi-team alignment, while delivering scalable systems and production-ready designs that govern advertising policies across the Netflix ads ecosystem.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding, prototype development, and cross-functional collaboration with Policy, Product, Operations, and Engineering teams to advance the policy

Qualifications

• Experience in AdTech and ads policy or trust & safety is a bonus.
• Ability to solve highly complex, ambiguous problems.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems, ideally on the JVM or a comparable server-side platform.
• Strong knowledge of API design, data modeling, schema evolution, versioning, backward compatibility, and correctness-sensitive evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Set longer-term technical strategy and architecture for policy models and governance services.
• Establish reliability, scalability, security, and operational standards across campaign planning, creative review, serving, Live workflows, forecasting, and reporting.
• Identify technical gaps and opportunities across teams, influence roadmaps toward solutions.
• Remain hands-on by producing code, designs, prototypes, strategies, and architecture.
