Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff DFx Manufacturing Engineer to drive design-for-manufacturability across avionics, electronics, and wiring harnesses for our autonomous aircraft and munitions portfolio. You will be the technical authority on DFx, embedding with design teams and leading DFx reviews to ensure producibility from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree can replace 2 years of work experience.
• Extensive experience leading DFM/DFA/DFT reviews and translating findings into measurable design improvements.
• Deep knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes: SMT placement, reflow, soldering, conformal coating, potting, cable/harness fabrication, box-build.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the DFx process for avionics, electronics, and harnessing across AD&S programs, from concept through rate production.
• Lead structured DFM/DFA/DFT reviews at key milestones, applying a scoring methodology to identify producibility risks.
• Embed with electrical and avionics design teams to provide manufacturing feedback on PCBA layout and harnessing.
• Work cross-functionally with supply chain, quality, operations, and design engineering daily.
• Develop and maintain DFx standards, guidelines, and scorecards for electronics manufacturing: SMT, soldering, conformal coating, potting, wire harness fabrication, box-build.
• Championship testability early in design: test point access, boundary scan requirements, functional test strategies, and fixtures for production testing.
• Partner with quality engineering to ensure DFx findings flow into inspection plans and process control.
• Collaborate with supply chain and sourcing to assess supplier capability and make-vs-buy decisions.
• Close loop between production feedback and upstream design improvements with operations.
• Build and evolve the DFx toolkit: templates, rubrics, knowledge databases, and training materials.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on DFx principles and review techniques.
• Travel to production sites as needed (<10%).
