Job summary

Harbor House Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is seeking a Full-Time Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist (SDC/IP) to join our leadership team in Massachusetts. This role combines staff education, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance to enhance resident care.

The successful candidate will coordinate orientation, onboarding, and ongoing education programs, oversee infection prevention practices, and mentor nursing staff while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• MA RN or LPN license active and unencumbered.
• Current CPR certification.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience.
• At least one (1) year of long-term care/skilled nursing experience.
• Experience with staff education, supervision, and training.
• Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
• Experience with rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices strongly preferred.
• Infection Prevention experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead staff orientation, onboarding, and ongoing education programs.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
• Monitor and oversee infection prevention and control practices throughout the facility.
• Track and manage infection surveillance and testing programs.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to promote quality resident care.
• Identify educational opportunities to improve clinical outcomes and regulatory compliance.
• Provide support, coaching, and mentorship to nursing staff.
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives and survey readiness efforts.
• Serve as a clinical resource for staff, residents, and families.
