Job summary

Harbor House Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Hingham, MA seeks a Full-Time Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist (SDC/IP) to join the leadership team. This role leads staff orientation, ongoing education, and infection prevention efforts to ensure compliant, high‑quality resident care.

The position requires MA RN or LPN licensure, CPR certification, and experience in long-term care with strong communication and coaching skills.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Massachusetts RN or LPN license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience.
• At least one (1) year of long-term care/skilled nursing experience required.
• Experience with staff education, supervision, and training.
• Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
• Infection Prevention experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead staff orientation, onboarding, and ongoing education programs.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
• Monitor and oversee infection prevention and control practices throughout the facility.
• Track and manage infection surveillance and testing programs.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to promote quality resident care.
• Identify educational opportunities to improve clinical outcomes and regulatory compliance.
• Provide support, coaching, and mentorship to nursing staff.
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives and survey readiness efforts.
• Serve as a clinical resource for staff, residents, and families.
