Job summary

Pana Community Hospital is seeking a Staff Development & Employee Health Coordinator (RN) to lead staff education, competency, and employee health initiatives across the organization.

This full-time, day-shift role requires IL RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and at least two years of nursing experience; a Bachelor’s in Nursing Education is highly desirable.

Qualifications

Pana Community Hospital is seeking an independent and innovative Staff Development/Employee Health RN to join our team. In this highly visible role, you will support staff education, professional development, competency, and employee health initiatives throughout the organization. The Coordinator will collaborate with leaders and employees across departments to identify educational needs, coordinate training and competencies, support regulatory compliance, and promote a safe and healthy work environment. This position requires strong organizational and analytical skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic healthcare setting. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate and support staff education, professional development, and competency programs throughout the organization.

Assess educational needs and collaborate with department leaders to develop and coordinate appropriate training.

Provide classroom-style and one-on-one clinical education to staff.

Coordinate onboarding, orientation, training, and competency validation for employees.

Maintain and support required education, training, competency, and certification records.

Support employee health initiatives and services across the organization.

Promote compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable standards.

Assist with identifying opportunities for staff development and continuous improvement.

Serve as an educational and clinical resource for staff and department leaders.

Maintain accurate documentation related to education, competencies, and employee health activities.

Collaborate with leaders and employees across departments to address educational and competency needs.

Assist with regulatory, accreditation, and survey readiness activities related to staff education and employee health.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies.

Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and effective communication.

Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice and organizational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Current Registered Nurse (RN)license in the State of Illinois.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS)certification.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)certification required at hire or within 6 months of start.

At least two (2)years of nursing experience required.

Bachelor’s degree or higher with a specialization in Nursing Education highly desired.

Experience or knowledge in employee health preferred.

Comfortable providing classroom-style and one-on-one clinical education.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff and leadership.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced healthcare environment.

Must be able to safely assist with patient care.

May be exposed to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, and other healthcare-related hazards.

Requires adherence to hospital infection prevention, safety, and employee health policies.
