Staff Development Coordinator (SDC)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one-year long-term care experience, with knowledge of adult learning principles and experience training adults preferred. Knowledge of current evidence-based nursing practices and long-term care experience required.

Required Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN or LPN licensure by the Massachusetts State Board of Nursing.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop nursing staff knowledge and skills through training, education, and preceptorship.
  • Create a culture of clinical competency through assessment and evaluation.
  • Develop and implement nursing competency skills programs based on center needs.
  • Coordinate orientation programs for new nursing staff.
  • Monitor staff during orientation with weekly check-ins.
  • Use clinical data to guide educational needs.
  • Develop annual and monthly nursing education calendars.
  • Assess staff performance to identify educational opportunities.
  • Implement new nursing policies and procedures.
  • Use clinical outcomes from QAPI to provide targeted education to improve patient care.
