Job summary

Genesis Healthcare in Camden, ME seeks an RN educator to lead education programs for nursing staff. You will work under the Director of Nursing, developing curricula, and overseeing orientation and competency evaluation to ensure high-quality patient care.

The role requires an RN with an accredited nursing degree, strong clinical skills, and experience in gerontology and adult learning methodologies. A long-term care background with educator experience is preferred, with opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Nursing.
• Develop education programs in response to staff needs and teach staff current accepted patient care and nursing center practices.
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees throughout their orientation period.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluation and clinically appraise nursing staff performance to identify areas for education.
• Provide oversight to Employee Health Program including TB and hepatitis vaccines and track influenza immunizations for all employees.

Qualifications

• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as an educator preferred


• Excellence in clinical nursing skills required


• Experience in Gerontology preferred


• Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred
