Job summary

Genesis Healthcare is seeking a Nurse Educator to support staff development and infection prevention in a long-term care setting. You will report to the Director of Nursing and develop education programs aligned with current nursing practices to uplift patient care.

The role requires an RN with clinical excellence and experience in gerontology, including adult learning principles to supervise orientation and competency assessments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care nursing with one year as educator.
• Excellence in clinical nursing skills.
• Experience in Gerontology.
• Training or experience in adult learning.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Nursing.
• Develop education programs responding to staff needs and teach current patient care and nursing center practices.
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees during orientation.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluate nursing staff performance to identify education needs.
• Oversee Employee Health Program, including tuberculosis and hepatitis vaccine administration and tracking of influenza immunizations for all employees.
