Job summary

Cypress Skilled Nursing in Bremen, GA seeks a full-time Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist to educate staff, coordinate trainings, and advance infection control in our skilled nursing facility. Active RN Georgia license required; Infection Preventionist Certification preferred.

The role includes orientation, in-service education, pre-employment screenings, clinical interviews, and infection control reporting.

Qualifications

• Provide new employee orientation and in-service education.
• Coordinate pre-employment screenings/testing.
• Assist and conduct interviews for clinical positions.
• Assess educational needs of center and provide education as needed.
• Plan in-service education programs for all employees in collaboration with respective department head staff.
• Lead and coordinate a robust team in the identification and implementation of infection prevention goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Decrease the incidence and transmission of infectious diseases between patients, staff, visitors, and the community.
• Provide instruction to develop and improve overall quality of care.
• Provide the Director of Nursing monthly outlines of the planned educational programs and monthly infection control reporting.
• Assist the Director of Nursing when necessary.
• Maintain appropriate records documenting attendance at orientations, in-services and CNA training programs.

Our Nursing Facility is seeking a full-time Staff Development Coordinator/Infection Preventionist. Do you have a passion for teaching? Are you detail-oriented? We are looking for a dynamic nurse with experience working in skilled nursing/long-term care to take on this unique position.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monday-Friday

• On Call one weekend a month, and one day per week.
• Provide new employee orientation and in-service education.
• Coordinate pre-employment screenings/testing.
• Assist and conduct interviews for clinical positions
• Assess educational needs of center and provide education as needed
• Work to decrease the incidence and transmission of infectious diseases between patients, staff, visitors, and the community
• Maintain appropriate records documenting attendance at orientations, in-services and CNA training programs.
• Actively participate in the safety program for the facility.
• Plan in-service education programs for all employees in collaboration with respective department head staff
• Lead and coordinate a robust team in the identification and implementation of infection prevent goals
• Provide instruction to develop and improve overall quality of care
• Provide the Director of Nursing with monthly outlines of the planned educational programs and monthly infection control reporting
• Assist the Director of Nursing when necessary.

• Lead and direct a robust team in the identification and implementation of infection prevention goals and objectives throughout the facility.

Must have an active RN Georgia License.

Preferred Infection preventionist Certified (from CDC) with prior experience**
