Job summary

Socure is seeking a Staff Data Scientist with deep expertise in computer vision and machine learning to provide technical leadership for our document verification solutions. This role guides data strategies, model development, deployment, and production monitoring across the full ML lifecycle.

You will mentor data scientists, set technical direction, and partner with engineering, product, and customers to translate business needs into robust modeling approaches that scale in real-world use.

Qualifications

• 10+ years or equivalent professional experience in CV/ML.
• Experience designing, deploying, and improving production ML systems at scale.
• Proven technical leadership across multiple ML projects, including mentoring data scientists.
• Strong understanding of the full ML lifecycle from data strategy to production monitoring.
• Strong technical judgment to navigate complex modeling problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as domain expert in computer vision and ML, providing technical direction across document verification projects.
• Oversee the end-to-end ML lifecycle: data selection, model development, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, improvement.
• Mentor data scientists through complex modeling and production challenges.
• Establish best practices and technical standards for model development and production readiness.
• Identify technical risks and opportunities to improve model performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Partner with engineering, product, and customers to translate business needs into effective modeling strategies.
• Communicate model behavior, performance, limitations, and decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
