Job summary

Databricks is seeking a senior Data Scientist for the Trust and Safety team to build ML models that detect anomalous activity and to help ensure platform security and compliance across the global Databricks environment. You will collaborate with security, trust and safety, and ML engineers to translate data into actionable signals, defend against abuse, and influence product decisions.

Mentoring juniors and presenting results to cross-functional partners are also key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data science, ML, and advanced analytics in high-velocity environments.
• Experience deploying DS/ML solutions in production.
• Understanding of software engineering practices (testing, code reviews, deployment).
• Coding skills in SQL and Python.
• Experience with distributed data processing systems like Spark.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement ML models to detect anomalous activity in Databricks products.
• Analyze performance and pricing of security-related features with product and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with security engineers and ML engineers to build protective systems.
• Create solutions to meet compliance requirements at Databricks.
• Gather requirements, define project OKRs and milestones, and report progress to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Guide junior data scientists and interns, assisting with project planning and code reviews.
• Represent the data science discipline across the organization and at conferences.
