Job summary

Joby Aviation seeks a Staff Data Scientist to lead the Data Analytics core team, translating flight, manufacturing, and ops data into actionable intelligence. Qualifications

• MS/PhD in CS, Engineering, Statistics or related field.
• 10+ years of hands-on data science and ML experience leading complex projects.
• Expert-level software engineering with scalable, maintainable code.
• Expert in Python and core data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
• Strong SQL and data modeling for analytics pipelines.
• Experience with Spark and cloud environments (Databricks).
• Proven ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on software projects.
• Analyze high-frequency sensor data from aircraft systems and tests.
