Ladders is seeking a Staff Data Scientist (NLP) to develop NLP and LLM-driven solutions, turning ambiguous business questions into ML problems. You’ll collaborate with ML engineers to move models from experimentation into production and build rigorous evaluation and RAG pipelines for scalable language systems. Location: Remote - US-based candidates only.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of applied ML experience, particularly in NLP.
• Proficiency in Python and modern NLP frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX.
• Hands-on experience fine-tuning transformer models and building production RAG systems.
• Strong knowledge of evaluation methods such as BLEU, ROUGE, and BERTScore.
• Familiarity with SQL and vector databases such as pgvector or Pinecone.

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Data Scientist | NLP to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space.

This role will focus on building and improving NLP and LLM-driven solutions that help turn ambiguous business questions into clear machine learning problems. You will partner closely with ML engineers to move models from experimentation into production, with an emphasis on performance, evaluation, and practical impact. The position also involves developing rigorous measurement frameworks and RAG pipelines to support high‑quality, scalable language-based systems.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $180,000 – $230,000 annually
