Job summary

BambooHR is seeking a Staff Data Scientist in Utah for a hybrid role. You will lead ML and analytics on the Data & BI team, owning production models and driving predictive analytics end to end.

Collaborate with BI Engineers, Data Engineers, and stakeholders to translate business problems into prescriptive solutions shaping go-to-market, operations, and product decisions. We expect 10+ years of experience, strong Python/SQL, and expertise in MLOps.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Data Science, ML engineering, or advanced analytics with production models.
• Experience designing and implementing complex ML systems at scale.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with Databricks or similar tools.
• Deep MLOps practices including experiment tracking, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and influence across teams.
• Excellent communication and ability to explain complex concepts.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and productionize ML models and analytics systems to set data science standards.
• Own part of the predictive portfolio end-to-end, improving and expanding high-impact use cases.
• Collaborate with BI and Data Engineers to embed ML into the data platform and GTM motions.
• Establish reusable methodologies and MLOps practices across teams.
• Mentor data scientists, analysts, and engineers through reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Stay current on agentic analytics, GenAI, and new tools to boost capability.
• Forge strategic partnerships to align technical vision with business priorities.
