Snowflake's Data Analytics Office is actively seeking a Staff Data Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge AI solutions that enhance our internal functions across Sales, Marketing, HR, and Legal departments. You will leverage your extensive industry experience while collaborating with cross-functional teams to create AI-driven applications that optimize our business processes.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Data & Analytics, you will be part of a team charged with building business applications and tools powered by AI, and integrating them into Snowflake's existing systems. You will be a key player in driving innovation and efficiency across various company projects

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL GET TO:

  • Design, develop, and implement AI infrastructure and solutions that enhance Snowflake's internal process, system and operations

  • Create advanced applications to improve data analysis, predictive capabilities, and automation across various company projects

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into effective AI-driven applications

  • Integrate AI applications and tools into Snowflake's existing systems, ensuring scalability and compliance with data privacy standards

  • Monitor and evaluate application and tool performance, conducting regular assessments to ensure accuracy and relevance

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI technologies and implement emerging trends in our solutions

  • Optimize AI applications for performance and user engagement

ON DAY ONE WE WILL EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:
  • 5-7 years of experience as Data Scientist supporting various business functions

  • Experience in building AI business application and tools that has been deployed into production that generates tangible business impact

  • Proficient experience with Python and other relevant programming languages

  • Hands-on experience with popular AI frameworks and libraries

  • Experience with cloud-based AI platforms and services

  • Solid understanding of natural language processing, computer vision, and speech recognition

  • Master or PHD in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field

  • Excellent communication skills to explain AI systems to project managers and business stakeholders

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with generative AI frameworks and architectures

  • Knowledge of large language models (LLMs) and their applications

  • Familiarity with prompt engineering and fine-tuning techniques for generative AI models

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $199,000 - $283,500.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off; parental leave; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
