Job summary

Bitsight is seeking a Staff Data Scientist in the United States (Boston area) to develop predictive cyber risk models and enhance Security Ratings and Risk Vector methodologies. You will collaborate with Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to translate complex analytics into scalable production systems.

Responsibilities include researching ML methods, expanding data sources, and ensuring robust, explainable solutions.

Qualifications

• MS required; PhD preferred in quantitative fields.
• Minimum 1 year equivalent staff-level experience in industry.
• Experience with modeling risk for rare events is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, validate, and implement statistical and ML methodologies for cybersecurity risk assessment and prediction.
• Maintain and enhance Bitsight’s Security Ratings and Risk Vector scoring methodologies.
• Explore new cybersecurity data sources to improve models and capabilities.
• Apply emerging AI/ML techniques to solve complex cybersecurity problems.
• Develop and maintain scalable, well-documented code for data science models and data processing pipelines.
• Monitor model performance, investigate anomalies, and suggest improvements.
• Communicate complex technical concepts and contribute to internal and customer-facing docs.
• Anticipate technical issues at the product level and influence design decisions.
