Job summary

Wayve in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Data Scientist to partner with AI engineers, shaping metrics, experiments and analyses to guide the Wayve AI Driver improvements. The role blends data science, experimentation and communication to influence product and safety outcomes.

You will design and evaluate real-world and off-road experiments, synthesize findings for cross-functional teams, and push for actionable insights across time zones.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in a Data Science role.
• Fluent in querying and building large datasets, writing production-level SQL for data-transformation pipelines.
• Experience designing robust real-world experiments (e.g. A/B) and evaluating test-statistics.
• Foundations in statistics: testing distributions and frequentist assumptions.
• Proficient in Python or R with data-science packages (pandas, sklearn, statsmodels, scipy; or dplyr, caret, stats).
• Strong in summarising and communicating findings clearly.
• Track record of influencing team direction through findings.
• Bias towards actionable insights for prioritisation and strategy.
• Comfortable working asynchronously across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Design experiments and off-road measurements to meet product requirements while ensuring safety and performance.
