Wayve is seeking a Data Scientist to partner with AI engineers, analyzing real and simulated driving data to guide improvements to the Wayve AI Driver.

You will quantify performance, design experiments, and identify bottlenecks to advance safety and functionality, while influencing product strategy with actionable insights. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Sunnyvale, CA with a competitive equity package and flexible core hours.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data science.
• Fluent in SQL for data pipelines.
• Experience designing robust experiments (A/B).
• Foundations in statistics and distribution testing.
• Proficient in Python (pandas, sklearn) or R (dplyr, caret).
• Ability to summarize findings clearly.
• Influence team direction with your insights.
• Bias toward actionable insights for prioritisation.
• Comfort with asynchronous collaboration across time zones.
• Curious about AV2.0 and building new solutions.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and iterate performance metrics guiding engineering progress toward commercial success.
• Design experiments and off-road measurements ensuring product requirements meet safety and performance.
• Investigate model training and inference factors to identify bottlenecks and validate hypotheses.
