Job summary

Airwallex in Seattle is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to shape the next phase of growth by building data science systems that improve how we acquire, engage, retain, and expand customers globally. You will design and deploy predictive models, personalization, and AI-powered applications, working with Growth, Marketing, Product, and Engineering to translate data into actionable strategies.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industry experience with an advanced degree in a quantitative field.
• Expert knowledge of machine learning and statistical modeling for data-driven growth.
• Hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining ML models in production-grade systems (cloud-based services, real-time or batch pipelines).
• Strong experience with SQL and Python.
• Experience applying ML models to measure causal impact of marketing/growth initiatives.
• Experience with AI harness and building AI agents.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and iterate on predictive models, personalization and recommendation systems, LLM-powered applications, incentive optimization frameworks, and causal inference models that drive measurable business outcomes.
• Partner with Growth, Marketing, Product, Sales, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to turn data and AI into clear recommendations and go-to-market strategies.
• Measure the causal impact of marketing and growth initiatives and translate findings into action.
• Raise the technical bar for the data science team through leadership, mentorship, and a long-term vision.
