  • Own significant software components, including documentation and testing suites, training junior engineers where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the next‑generation merchant optimization platform, advising on architectural choices, design & implementation.
  • Support the Product Manager and Technical Leads in interpreting market requirements into technical solutions, managing work scope, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for at least one U.S. ISO/RTO, and mentor engineering team on compliance, settlement, and operational nuances.
  • Provide Level 3 support for production issues and actively contribute to operational robustness and scalability.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field.
  • 7+ years of software development experience, ideally in energy, renewables, or grid‑tech sectors.
  • Proven experience delivering production‑grade software for DERs, energy storage, or grid market participation.
  • Strong foundation in wholesale market operations and optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in Python, Kubernetes, microservices architecture, and working with cloud‑native deployments.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives in fast‑paced environments.
  • Experience interacting with real‑time systems, equipment‑level controls, or forecasting models for energy assets.
  • Travel may be required up to 10%, based on business needs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ph.D. in Operations Research, Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field.
  • Deep knowledge of ISO/RTO market participation frameworks, especially CAISO, ERCOT, NYISO, ISO-NE, and PJM.
  • Hands‑on experience with Azure cloud stack, including deployment pipelines and monitoring tools.
  • Experience in CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and modern testing frameworks.
