Job description

As a Staff Data Scientist, you will be responsible for advancing our Natural Language Processing research and development, bringing NLP features from product request to experiment to production code. You will design and execute experiments and build necessary tooling. You will keep abreast of the state of the art in LLMs while conducting research of novel techniques to solve issues unique to our application.

Responsibilities:
  1. Translate desired product functionality into machine learning tasks for data scientists and machine learning engineers to solve.
  2. Follow and contribute to best practices for our research activities including data collection/annotation, literature research, experimentation, and evaluation.
  3. Create and test novel LLM-based systems.
  4. Stay informed on new methodologies for evaluating generative models and other complex deep learning techniques.
What We're Looking For:
  1. 6 years of experience in Data Science or Machine Learning Engineering.
  2. Expert-level Python skills: able to write reliable, extensible code.
  3. Knowledge of deep learning fundamentals and experience finetuning various foundation/backbone models for new tasks.
  4. Experience using pre-trained LLMs for zero or few-shot learning tasks.
  5. Scientific mindset and ability to run experiments to guide model selection and hyperparameter search.
  6. Experience putting LLM-based services into production.
  7. Experience working with clinical data.
  8. Primarily Python jobs and applications.
  9. Experience with OpenAI and other Foundation model APIs.
  10. Experience with PyTorch on AzureML for training.
  11. Knowledge of Kubernetes via AKS or EKS for serving compute (with support from infra team).
  12. Experience with Flyte for orchestration.
  13. Experience with cloud-based machine learning training providers (Sagemaker, AzureML, or similar).
  14. Experience generating visualizations for evaluation of complex systems.

Pay Range : $159,450 - $223,230

Other compensation : Bonus Eligible
