Job summary

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The Data Quality and Governance team owns the data catalog, knowledge graph, data tiering, lineage, and quality measurement. We seek a Staff-level leader to guide engineers building trusted data pipelines and catalogs at scale.

You'll collaborate with product managers and peers to create canonical datasets, ensuring customers and Stripe use trustworthy data, while leveraging AI/LLM to tackle complex data problems.

Qualifications

• Staff-level role with 10+ years building and operating data systems and leading teams.
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals for high-availability data tooling.
• Analytical, data quality focus to resolve data inconsistencies.
• Proficiency in a backend language (Scala/Java/Go) and SQL.
• Customer-focused with ability to collaborate with product and engineers.
• Ability to work autonomously in ambiguity and foster inclusive environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical outcomes for a team of engineers with mentorship.
• Build and operate large-scale data discovery and catalog platforms.
• Develop subject matter expertise and manage SLA of data pipelines and apps.
• Collaborate with PMs to create canonical datasets and data warehouses.
• Leverage AI/LLM and Agents to produce high-quality data.
• Drive execution of data initiatives from planning to delivery.
• Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
