Job summary

GitLab is seeking a foundational engineering leader to own end-to-end data products and platform systems. You will drive ambiguity into concrete roadmaps, shape architecture, and deliver through multi-team collaboration across the graph backend, AI Platform, and Infrastructure.

You will guide the full lifecycle of features from design through implementation, mentor engineers, and push for velocity while maintaining quality and business value.

Qualifications

• Must influence as a Staff owning product or platform systems end to end across multiple teams.
• High agency: actively clarifies path, makes calls, pushes work to completion.
• Hands-on production AI-powered tool orchestration and multi-tenant SaaS deployment.

Responsibilities

• Architect how GitLab and third-party data is ingested, modeled, and synced into the knowledge graph.
• Lead integration with external systems for business context and index into the graph.
• Architect the Data Marketplace so customers access GitLab data via Snowflake, Databricks, and BigQuery.
• Publish GitLab observability as OpenTelemetry and broker data-sharing APIs.
• Define operational readiness for shipped features across GitLab.com, Dedicated, and Self-Managed.
