Job summary

Commure is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to own the data warehouse platform end‑to‑end. You’ll design, build, and operate layers from CDC pipelines to analytics and serving, with StarRocks and dbt at the core, collaborating across teams to deliver scalable data solutions for healthcare.

You’ll work directly on streaming, data lake architecture, and governance patterns, while ensuring low latency, strong data quality, and secure access in a fast‑moving environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience on data platforms at scale.
• Fluent in SQL, schema design, and query optimization.
• Experience running production data infrastructure (orchestration, observability, on‑call, data quality).
• Experience with modern data stack components (CDC, streaming, data lake formats, MPP/lakehouse engines).

Responsibilities

• Own the data warehouse platform end‑to‑end (CDC pipelines, data lake, query layer, transformation layer).
• Design and operate CDC pipelines with Debezium and streaming backbone.
• Architect the data lake on object storage with Iceberg/Delta/Hudi formats.
• Run and scale StarRocks as the query and serving layer.
• Build the dbt transformation layer with semantic consistency across teams.
• Stand up orchestration and CI/CD, observability, data quality tooling.
