Job summary

Commure is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own our data warehouse platform end‑to‑end. You will design, build, and operate every layer—from CDC pipelines to analytics serving—with Debezium, StarRocks, and dbt at the core.

You’ll drive architectural decisions, ensure data quality, and scale the platform across teams. You’ll work closely with security and compliance to meet PHI handling, access controls, and auditability requirements, while enabling self‑serve analytics for product and

Qualifications

6+ years of software engineering experience in data platforms.
Experience with Debezium, Kafka/Redpanda, Iceberg/Delta/Hudi and StarRocks/Trino/Databricks.
SQL proficiency, good schema design and performance tuning.
Production data infra: orchestration, observability and on-call.

Responsibilities

Own the data warehouse platform end-to-end.
Design and operate CDC pipelines with Debezium (and Kafka/Redpanda) for low-latency data movement.
Architect the data lake on object storage with Iceberg/Delta/Hudi for batch and streaming workloads.
Run and scale StarRocks as the query and serving layer with proper design and tuning.
Build the transformation layer with dbt and define semantic standards and tests.
Stand up orchestration and CI/CD, observability and data-quality tooling.
Collaborate with Security on PHI/PII handling and access controls.
