Job summary

Gradial is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Data to be the first dedicated data platform engineer. You will own the data layer from modeling to pipelines, ensuring reliable cross‑functional data delivery across products.

You’ll shape Gradial’s warehouse, indexing and search across diverse content, while partnering with engineers and GTM teams to enable trusted analytics and data‑driven decisions at enterprise scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with ownership of complex data systems.
• Proven data architecture experience in fast-growing environments.
• Relational DB design, indexing and query patterns expertise.
• Production data pipelines, warehouses and analytical models.
• Experience building search systems including retrieval quality.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the roadmap for Gradial’s data platform.
• Own data modeling for production databases and schemas.
• Lead the evolution of multimodal indexing and search.
• Build and own data pipelines across production databases and events.
• Develop the warehouse, metrics and self-serve tooling.
• Ensure data quality, contracts and observability.
